Applied behavior analysis is an evidence-based therapy where individualized teaching strategies are systematically used to improve socially significant behaviors to a meaningful degree. ABA focuses on understanding how behavior is influenced by the environment and uses individualized, positive teaching strategies to increase communication, social, play, daily living, and independence skills while reducing behaviors that interfere with learning and participation.
